In music we follow an online interactive music platform called Charanga where we learn about different types of music, rhythm and songs.The children can access the charanga at home with their logins that we sent out in the autumn term.

Goldilocks and the 3 bears
We have been learning the story Goldilocks and the Three Bears in our Talk for Writing sessions. We created story maps and have ordered the story. We had great fun acting out the story of Goldilocks with costumes and props. We had some great daddy bear voices!
Wriggly Nativity
We all had lots of fun learning all of the catchy songs and dressing up in our amazing costumes to perform the wriggly nativity.
Gymnastics
We have been visiting the hall twice a week for PE. Once a week is for our gymnastics where we build upon our core strength and gross motor skills, we explore ways to climb and move.
Alma Thomas
As part of Black History Month in October we were inspired by Alma Thomas who was an African American artist who used bold and bright colours in her patterned artwork.
Police Officer Pete
We were lucky enough to have Police officer Pete visit us at school. he told us all about his job and how we can keep safe and what to do in an emergency.
Our first visit to forest school
We have enjoyed wrapping up on all of our waterproofs and getting muddy at forest school. We explored all of the areas including base camp, the mud kitchen the digging area and the tyre swings.
Amazing Autumn
As autumn draws in we have been noticing all of the amazing colours and textures that this beautiful season brings.
Reception Timetable
Here is a copy of the Reception weekly timetable. Across the week there is a balance and mixture of phonics and handwriting, maths, Talk for Writing, reading, PE and forest school and story times. Each session is very practical and interactive and differentiated to each child’s needs and also takes into account children’s interests too. Some weeks will different depending if there is a WOW day linked to a festival or event such as Diwali or fire engine coming in.
